Our programs are carefully crafted with the student in mind, the changes that are constantly taking place in the field of nursing, the local need of the population, as well is national health education policies and these are constantly updated in order for our courses to be up-to-date at all times.
HND IN NURSING
Three year studies in general nursing after Advanced Level, Baccalaureat or equivalent certificates. Training will be comprised of theory, practical in a demonstration room equipped with a state of the art tools and equipment, clinical placements in the most recommended health facilities and day-to-day supervised community placements. Continuous assessments and semester evaluations done following the prescription of the Minister of State in charge of Higher Education but also with a focus on global nursing care practice. Training culminates in the award of Higher National Diploma in Nursing after national certification exams organized by the Ministry of Higher Education.
HND IN MIDWIFERY
Three year studies in midwifery with Advanced Level, Baccalaureat or equivalent certificates as entry requirements. Training will be comprised of theory, practical in a demonstration room equipped with a state of the art tools and equipment, clinical placements in the most recommended health facilities and day-to-day supervised community placements. Continuous assessments and semester evaluations done following the prescription of the Minister of State in charge of Higher Education. Training culminates in the award of Higher National Diploma in Midwifery after national certification exams organized by the Ministry of Higher Education. Upon graduation, candidates would have acquired skills and competences that will enable them contribute to reduction of maternal and child mortality through holistic care to pregnant women and newborn.
HND IN MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENCE
Three year studies in Medical Laboratory discipline after Advanced Level, Baccalaureat or equivalence certificate all in Sciences. It entails theory, practical in an onsite modern laboratory with up-to-date equipment and online tutorial with external partners. Clinical placements in reputable Medical laboratories and real time monitored community placements. Continuous assessments and semester examinations done following the prescription of the Minister of State in charge of higher Education but with a special attention on the use of methods in both advanced and low income settings. Potential graduates are also drilled on entrepreneurial skills and business. The training ends with the national certification exams organized by the Ministry of Higher Education.
HND IN HEALTH CARE MANAGEMENT
three year studies in the management of health services and health care services. Entry certificates are Advanced Level, Baccalaureat or equivalent certificates. Training is comprised of theory and internship in health services and health care units. It will run through six semesters with semester evaluations and culminate in a certification exam organized by the Ministry of Higher Education. Of prime focus in this program is providing potential graduates with skills and competence that will improve the quality of management of health resources in low income countries through foresight and accountability.
MEDICAL SECRETARY
Become a medical secretary in nine months with competence in patient/client record maintenance, preparation and processing of medical accounts, planning of schedules, ensuring safety at work place, applications of ICT/communication skills, correspondence writing, confidentiality aspects and privacy in the medical environment. Any of the following qualifies you for the training: GCE Ordinary level, CAP, BEPC or equivalent certificate.
FIRST AID
As a certified cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First-Aid expert after nine months training, you will be skilled in aspects including (but not limited to) the Good Samaritan law, CPR, operation of an automated external defibrillator (AED), first aid, wounds, heart problems, fractures, burns, poisoning, bleeding, choking, injuries and shock. Any of the following qualifies you for the training: GCE Ordinary level, CAP, BEPC or equivalent certificate.
MEDICAL DELEGATE
Training to become a medical delegate entails acquisition of notions on pharmaceutical industry/products, distribution of pharmaceutical products, human anatomy and physiology, market research and analysis, pharmacology, drug administration, therapeutic drugs, drug formularies, pharmacovigilance, disease management, pharmaceutical marketing, pre and post sales activities, IT and computer application and communication skills. Prerequisite: GCE Ordinary level, CAP, BEPC or equivalent certificate.
